Born in Taggia, in 1994 he founded (from his own idea) the Associazione Pasquale Anfossi in Genoa, together with colleagues and friends, dedicated to rediscovering this eighteenth-century musician from Taggia: the association's activities include lectures, concerts featuring music never performed in modern times, and the cataloguing of a significant portion of his works preserved in Italy.

Always closely tied to the Italian repertoire, in 1996 he devoted considerable attention to the music of Muzio Clementi, performing the complete Sonatas for piano, violin and cello with the Nuovo Trio Fauré, and later recording the world premiere of Clementi's Sonatas for piano and violin.

His interest in Italian music then extended to the early twentieth century, a repertoire to which he has dedicated himself with particular intensity. This journey began with Francesco Cilea, whose important chamber music he brought back to light after years of neglect, resulting in the CD Chamber Music for Agorà of Milan, before expanding to composers such as Franco Alfano, Mario Castelnuovo-Tedesco, Mario Zafred and Roberto Lupi.

The high point of this commitment was his collaboration with Maestro Bruno Bettinelli, whom he visited at his Milan home between 1995 and 1996: from this relationship came the idea for a CD devoted to the composer's most significant piano works, its programme defined together with the Maestro himself and recorded in 2004 for Ducale Music.

Alongside Italian composers, a place of particular importance is held by Ludwig van Beethoven, whose lesser-known works he has studied in depth — a pursuit that led to an invitation from the Beethoven-Haus in Bonn to give a concert on the Conrad Graf fortepiano that once belonged to the composer. There he performed the previously unpublished Fantasia Biamonti 213, the world's first-ever recording of the piece, later released on the CD Beethoven Rarities for Inedita of Rome and awarded 5 stars by the magazine Musica.

As a pianist, he has performed for major concert institutions and associations, including the Teatro Carlo Felice in Genoa, the Sala Verdi and Sala Puccini of the Milan Conservatory, the Alghero International Festival, the Unione Musicale of Turin, the Settembre Musicale of Trieste, the Roman Theatre of Aosta, as well as in London, Munich, and Nicosia, and in numerous Italian cities including Cervo, Florence, Perugia, Bolzano, Rome and Spoleto.

On the recording front, he has collaborated with Newton Classic, Agorà, Rivoalto, Ducale Edizioni, Inedita and Videoradio.
